Dr. Antonio D'Apuzzo

Clear Aligners

Clear aligners straighten your smile without brackets or wires: a series of custom-made trays that you swap out every one to two weeks. The movement is gradual enough that most people around you won’t notice you’re wearing them, and since they’re removable, you take them out to eat, drink and brush, so your daily routine doesn’t change.

We work with both Invisalign and Spark, two well-established aligner systems that work in a similar way. Which one suits you depends on your case, and we go through it together, unhurried, at your consultation.

Consultations at Prem Dent (Elephant & Castle) and Mint Dental Centre (Oval), in English or Spanish.

Who it's for

Aligners work well for mild to moderate crowding, spacing and bite issues, and they’re a popular choice among adults and older teenagers who’d rather avoid fixed braces. They’re not the right fit for every case: if yours needs more complex movement, we’ll tell you honestly at your consultation and work through what makes more sense together.

How it works

Your first visit includes an assessment and a digital scan, no more uncomfortable impressions. From that scan we design your plan and show you a preview of the likely result before you decide anything. Each set of aligners is worn for one to two weeks before moving on to the next. Most treatments take [confirm typical range with Antonio], depending on the case. Once you’re done, a retainer keeps the result in place.

Invisalign and Spark

We work with both systems. They’re both clear, removable and effective, and move teeth in a similar way. Which one suits you depends on your case and your preferences, and it’s something we talk through at your consultation, not a decision we make for you in advance.

Understanding your treatment

Aligner care

Take them out before eating or drinking anything other than water — heat and food particles warp and stain the plastic. Brush and floss before putting them back in. Clean them with a soft brush and cold water, no toothpaste, it’s abrasive and clouds the plastic. Wear time matters more than people expect: 20 to 22 hours a day, every hour short adds up and can delay your treatment.

It’s not an emergency, but don’t ignore it either, it affects your timeline. Don’t decide on your own whether to skip ahead to the next set or go back to the last one. Call us, we’ll tell you which one to wear in the meantime and arrange a replacement.

Always in their case, never wrapped in a napkin or loose in a bag or pocket,  that’s the most common way they get lost or broken. If you’re eating out, bring the case with you.

Don’t leave them near a stove, in the car on a hot day, or in hot water. Heat warps the plastic and it stops fitting properly, so that set becomes unusable.

No. Each set matches the exact position of your teeth for that specific week of treatment. One from a different stage simply won’t fit properly, and forcing it can move your teeth in the wrong direction.

Yes, we offer financing plans. Each type of treatment has its own payment options, and we’ll walk you through what applies to your case at your consultation.
